@BenjaminNelan@mastodon.social There are things that cross the line. They crossed it. That is all! If the leadership wants to resign, I would accept that. Unless that happens, my eyes will look ahead and to somewhere else. It's not any more complicated than that. It's not a moral imperative for the Blender organization to exist. It is also not a moral imperative for Blender itself to exist.

@thankfulmachine@oldbytes.space They did cross the line. They also crossed the line when they accepted funding from Meta, Google et al. I'm not happy about any of that. But I've clearly been poor at communicating. I'm a motion graphics designer. There is no software in my field that isn't being tainted by this stuff and most of it isn't open-source. If everyone who cares about Blender leaves, and all who are left are the same AI bros asking for these features... it becomes the main, well-funded fork.
