@nom The entire purpose of CA high-speed rail is "trains good, planes bad"; the project is just to stop the little people from flying intra-state. Meanwhile they could have tripled the speed of the existing trains, passenger and freight, by just upgrading the existing tracks at a fraction of the cost, diesel trains are crawling at 1/2 or 1/3 speed because of shit tracks . . . but that wouldn't satisfy their egos or achieve the goal of returning flight to a privilege of the rich or connected.
