Pillars of Eternity (the first one, which I kickstarted) added a turn-based mode so I am trying to go through it. The balancing is absolute garbage, but I'm getting through it anyway, by having Itumaak and Sir Bearington tank for the party, losing most of their turns, while everybody else sits in an aura of +ranged attack speed and pelts enemies with arrows and bullets and sometimes spells.
