I would avoid premium brands like ThinkPad for being overpriced (not by as much as Apple, but you can do better), but overall, laptop brands... everyone has their favorite and since everyone's is different (including those of the people that sell the stuff in stores for years and do repairs etc.) the only logical conclusion I can draw is that each new major version or product line is its own thing. I've had only superb experiences with Asus but 🤷
