@ascherbaum@mastodon.social I have used my ThinkPads for 5-7 years. Each of them got a battery replacement at some point. Almost every single one started out with "good" RAM configurations and ended up with twice or three times as much RAM. Almost every single one had a storage replacement somewhere along the way. On one I chaged the touchpad, on another one I changed the screen. If you remotely think about modifying them over the next years, the decision is relatively easy.

    @ascherbaum@mastodon.social Part of your decision is obviously also the operating system. If you WANT Windows, your choice is clear. Likewise, if you WANT MacOS. I started out on Windows, and for the past couple of laptops, I've been running various distributions of Linux with different amounts of success and happiness. If you tell us a little bit more about this poll, you'll likely get more tailored answers. Is this about what we "like"? Is this about what we think you should buy?
