@toba@zeroes.ca But a handful said something I found quite sad: “I just wanted to write the best essay I could.” Those students in question, who at least tried to provide some of their own thoughts before mixing them with the generated result, had already written the best essay they could. And I guess that’s why I hate AI in the classroom as much as I do. Yeah. We really have to have a conversation about "best" and "right", especially in communication contexts. By which I mean we need to have the side of the conversation not driven by Grammerly Ads and form over function perspectiveists. Writing is meant to communicate. That is the primary purpose. We have so lost sight of that.
