I have one of those old-fashioned coil water heaters that you just plug in and stick into your container (in my case an insulated steel container similar to the one you have there in the picture). It's cheap, tiny, extremely portable, and works quite well; but it's rather dangerous, since it gets very hot and there isn't even a switch to turn it off, you have to unplug it. It does have the added advantage of not making your hot water taste like plastic.
Of course it does necessitate a different procedure too. You can't put it into food, so you have to heat the water first and then add your dried food to the container.
