@robpumphrey@mastodonapp.uk Australian taxi drivers break the law when picking up & dropping off passengers all the time. Waymo are making common practice explicit. I'm not sure what the appropriate response is, because passengers want/need pick up & drop off & legal stopping places in CBDs are rare. Perhaps explicitly allowing a 60 second stop in a no stopping zone by a licenced taxi etc would be appropriate - sonething to give them somewhere legal to stop on every block, then enforce no double parking etc.
