@davidtheeviloverlord@mastodon.social ..when the button is clicked are all contained as part of the webpage. So instead of waiting for the page to call home to the server and serve the next page, you wait for the under powered browser to decide what to do. There is a lot of unnecessary spying stuff that JavaScript enables too, and it makes it easier for some attacks. It can make pages prettier too, after they've finally loaded.     @davidtheeviloverlord@mastodon.social I think to enable* it you can either check your browser settings or add an extension or plugin to your browser like ublock origin. Your kindle probably never had the capability in the first place though. If you really want the JavaScript ebay experience you're going to probably need a different machine I would guess.
