The last election in #Hungary is a perfect example of a belief I keep coming back to:
It's great that Orbán is out of the picture, but let’s not pretend the replacement is going to lead a workers’ revolution.
I understand the whole “lesser of two evils” argument, but it’s a very bleak narrative
We don’t deserve slightly less awful. We deserve something more than a lukewarm compromise dressed up as progress. We deserve fucking rainbows.

@linguistgoneforeign@mastodon.social i think, perhaps more that the depressing fact the alt to outright fash is centre-shite is the expectation that progressives are supposed to celebrate the centrist win with something more than disenchanted relief and if we fail to do so, we are saying we would have preferred the camps. Cheer for your continued serfdom and be grateful it isn't outright slavery, kinda thing. It's just as totalitarian, ultimately.
