@grumpy@grumpys.online My understanding is that humans using these tools aren’t parsing it. We’ve got LLMs generating inefficient code because that’s what they were trained on. It’s just a real dumb state of affairs. Back in the day the algorithmic computing department was excited about computer generated code because of its potential efficiencies, but we’ve taken a worse path.
