#WordWeavers Sep 4: What seemingly insignificant object in your story carries a lot of emotional weight?
At the beginning of the book, Jessie Nakamura's black leather jacket is mostly unadorned. It just has a few pins on the lapel. One is an IDIC (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulcan_(Star_Trek)#IDIC), and that ties into her family background and how she was raised. There's a lot more going on in that pin that one might guess.
