@IngoHeinscher@mastodontech.de I argue it's somewhat deeper than that; to me, the MBA is not about bookkeeping, per se. I think that's giving the concept too much credit. Bookkeeping and accounting are deep and complicated and requires extensive knowledge of the beans being counted to do well. I argue that an MBA is a rejection of even that. Rather, I think that it's the concept that business is a skill that's independent of the thing being done. It's the idea that one business is like another business is like another business, regardless of what they do, where they are, or who their customers or employees are or want. It's the idea that you can take a CEO from a company that makes candy and that they'll be able to run a company that makes airplane engines or software just as well - after all, it's all just business, right?
