There's clearly not going to be something which will take over what an algorithm can do for recommending other artists...but I do like to spend some of my time checking out hashtags here on Mastodon, or dropping into Reddit (read only) to read through music related subs. I also watch a fair bit of YouTube, the latest artist I found that was was from Triple J's Like a Version, with Wisp covering Green Day:

It isn't perfect, but I do find artists to listen to!

@flwwhtrbt@mastodon.social sorry for my *very* late reply. This cover is amazing, thank you! And thanks for the explanation. Sometimes I do it similar, but I'd like to have it less manual with less friction. But I also don't want a corporate algorithm telling me what they want me to listen to. I want one that is actually "mine".
