@apodoxus@mastodon.online Also valid. Long before the whole “Roman Empire” thing last year, I thought about the fall of Rome and the US. I minored in Mediaeval Literature and spent a lot of time wondering how Europe went from being so advanced to the Dark Ages. This all peaking just after a global pandemic feels on point after the Black Plague and the rise of Fascism after the 1918 pandemic.
