@greenshoots@poa.st @DrRyanSkelton@poa.st They aren't in starships and don't come from vast distances. "Alien" just means foreign, as in foreign to this material plane as well.
There is a reason that "UFO encounters" seem to be able to break the laws of physics as well as directly respond based on the emotions and thoughts of others.
I can believe that true connection with "otherworldly beings" can test a persons faith in many ways.

Then we really should be calling these things demons/spirits, and reserve the word "alien" for the kind that would merely be from another planet in this particular material universe. In my opinion, a separate word should be used to describe those beings that are metaphysical/non-corporeal. And since these types of interlopers seem hostile, and behave much like what the Church fathers would describe as demons, why not call them as such instead?
