May is Celiac Awareness Month. If you think you may be reacting to gluten and are able to access healthcare, please get tested, before going gluten-free. Celiac disease is not just an intolerance but an autoimmune disorder that requires a very strict (including avoiding cross contact) lifelong gluten-free diet and has various comorbid conditions that you should keep an eye out for. I've been living with it almost my whole life so feel free to ask me.

"Children with advanced celiac disease had horrifying symptoms: rashes, withered limbs, and large swollen bellies, like famine victims." That's exactly what I Iooked like, by the time I finally got diagnosed, which was a long time after WWII. https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/history-of-celiac-disease #CeliacDisease #MedicalHistory #History #Medicine
