@lily@problematisch.jetzt Many registry offices allow you to do the preregistration online or on the phone (Leipzig allows both). I did it in Leipzig via their online form and didn't need any identification for that iirc. And I don't think there would be a legal basis to ask for the birth certificate in particular.

@lily@problematisch.jetzt Also, you can get your name changed at any registry office, it doesn't need to be the one where you're registered or where you were born (altho the latter may speed up the process a bit). I can't fully recommend doing it in Leipzig, I only got the appointment for the actual change like 5.5 months after the preregistration... Do we have SBGG name change review sites for different offices already? xD
