In case anyone is thinking this can't go wrong on modern digital TV:
The tevebits YouTube channel has made some excellent multiviews (time synced from DTV or Sat) of broadcast TV opt-in/opt-out.

@probnot @themaritimegirl Tevebits also had a Eurovision Song Contest one of the final when RAI (IT) joined the feed late (after the ad break ran late) and had to improvise local filler so that they could crash into the start somewhat gracefully, by skipping some of the EBU's prepackaged intro (while leaving the sponsor segments intact). I can't find it now. Maybe RAI or EBU got it pulled. It was technically flawless but they must have been under a lot of pressure to make it work on the night.
