@themaritimegirl
Their TV ads (aired in the UK, with analogue spillover to most of Ireland) were entertaining. I'm sure they're all on YouTube now. The name "Irn Bru" meant that they got away with it not being a brew (and 0 Iron content) despite the ads claiming "from girders".
The last time I drank it was before everyone started using Aspartame and Acestradiol as sugar substitutes. It looks like it still has some sugar in the formula though, aswell as 2 (not carcinogenic) sweeteners.

@themaritimegirl Who bottles/distributes it in/for Canada? Barr, the Scottish parent company, keeps Coca-Cola off the number 1 spot in Scotland for soft drink sales. Legend has it that every house in Scotland has at least one large bottle of Irn Bru in the fridge, to be used as a hangover cure. edit: Here's one of the ads. If I just described it instead of linking to it, nobody would believe me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yc8evQ4u20
