At a recent GDG event, many aspiring engineers asked me how to stay relevant in the age of AI. My answer: focus on CORE SKILLS and META SKILLS. Core skills: architecture, clean modular testable code, product thinking. Meta skills: reading better, thinking better, learning better. AI can speed up execution. But judgment, clarity, and adaptability still come from you. That is what compounds over time. What skill do you think matters most for new developers today?
