@_patmurray Oh that always concerns me because I don’t always have the external drive connected and I don’t want the Mac to flip out. I kind of want the Mac with the paucity of storage to have photos in the cloud, and then a drive that has all the photos on disk.

@joesteel yeah in that case an alternative backup seems wise. I do want to try something that uses https://developer.apple.com/documentation/photokit/uploading-asset-resources-in-the-background API so my phone can just backup photos at capture to a 2nd service. Idk if any apps have yet
