Recently I've replaced my laptop's MediaTek MT7922 Wi-Fi & Bluetooth card with an Intel AX210 and, honestly, I regret not doing it sooner I wasn't sure whether to do this at first simply because the laptop came preinstalled with that MTK card and, while one can hear conflicting opinions on it online, it would've been okay by me if I could get it to work fine with my setup. However, as time passed, I noticed just how riddled with issues it can be Just like some resources adviced to, disabling ASPM (either globally or for the specific kernel module) and using iwd helped to reduce latency in general, but the MT7922 would still have recurring ping spikes. Worse yet, the card didn't seem to play well with sleep, as the laptop would have very high spikes after waking up Even weirder, while the card seemed to always have latency issues, the severity of them seemed to vary a lot based on the device it connected to. Even on the exact same network and with the exact same configuration, connecting to two routers using different chipsets would lead to one having much more severe ping spikes than the other, while other devices used as control for the tests worked fine instead... I suspect that could be the main reason why this card seems to work good enough for some people but be terrible for others :neobot_confused: After trying way longer than I'd like to admit to get the card to work well, I've swapped it for the aforementioned AX210 and... everything just worked from the get go :neobot_flop_blep:
