@freddy @mconley I agree. it looks like this person used the portable version as a way to do support on an locked down device. https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1srhw3d/cannot_restore_backup_created_using_firefoxs/ The "cannot restore" sounded to me like, the backup did not restore (fully) to the "custom" profile path. AFAIK this is a supported usecase.
