"shocked the conscience of humanity" is UNspeak for "we will NOT let this drop". I have tried to explain to actual lawyers how the complete lack of accountability and/or consequences for an entire class of people destroys a democracy by undermining people's faith in the rule of law. But what the hell, when did anyone ever listen to me about likely consequences ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
