Question for those who have used the hut system in Norway: do you need to prebook the huts? We're going at the end of August and I'm getting conflicting information. Some websites say you can just show up and there will always be a bed for you and others recommend prebooking. Also, how important is it to build in a contingency day in the planning? I'm confident we can do the route in the recommended 7 days but I'm not sure if I should be thinking of contingency in the case of very bad weather. Do the Norwegian mountains get a lot of bad weather in summer? I'm not talking some rain, I'm talking weather that will make it dangerous to be out in the mountains. #hiking #walking #backpacking #trekking #Norway
