@lineplus hmmh. Maybe the entropy graph could be interesting again. But I once looked at them before.
Specifically it's about this one: The Brother label printers have an update format that is easily breakable and so far I found their background images and such, but I'm sure that there must be some way to update fonts. They did that before. So I kinda assume that I just haven't found the location yet where they are put into. But each mono codepoint is only ~12x12px…

@lineplus i know most of the common tools like binwalk, imagej, ghidra (binaryninja), imhex, ... but I recently saw one specifically for kind of this use case from the homebrew community which was basically imagej, but you could manipulate your format, offsets and such live without needing to reload the file.
