One of my favourite topics is #digitalsovereignty. When dealing with documents, often the answer is "install nextcloud instead of sharepoint". And using #opensource is a good idea, but as soon as you work across different organisations, I believe it is not sufficient. In the end you still depend on a central installation of the tool hosted by someone.

@jzakotnik@mastodon.social one thing Nextcloud can do is share files and folders with other instances, creating a cloud of Nexctclouds. Federation is the key: https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/stable/admin_manual/configuration_files/federated_cloud_sharing_configuration.html
