its the first heatwave of the year here in the #pnw – central ac is not customary so everyone is on their own. historically weve had warm summers but obv that is changing.
the roommate in charge of putting up emergency blankets in the rest of the apt is unsure if she should do the south-facing glass sliding door to the balcony. im gonna let her and her partner suffer until they figure it out. i filled the bathtub with cold water that can evaporate as it warms up, i supplied the blankets. my job is done

"maddox that sounds kinda passive-aggressive" yea it is but consider that 1) we taped up emergency blankets everywhere the past two summers and the roommates noted that it helped; 2) the roommates, while pleasant, sometimes lose their sense of logic and do things like unscrew the lightbulb from inside the fridge because the lightbulb might heat up and spoil the food; prepare, serve and consume rotting food; dont allow food to be stored in the freezer to be taken out to organics later, because theres a risk of disease transmission; dont mask when infectious; etc so i cant really waste more energy teaching them basic stuff, i think they kinda gotta solve this problem on their own :blobcat_neutral:
