Small steps: Recently, I moved from VS Code to VS Codium (same app sans Microsoft surveillance - see https://vscodium.com/). This morning, I migrated from github to Codeberg (https://codeberg.org/), integrating the latter with VS Codium (this move negating MS github surveillance). With minor issues resolved (mostly due to my own noobness with all this stuff), all good.
