the optimist in me is looking at the u.s.-iran war situation and thinking, if the yanks fuck this up badly enough, their capacity to wage other wars with higher likelihoods of success will wane, and a third world war will actually go down in likelihood rather than up, in the long term. the pessimist in me knows that this could all just be the opening phase of the third world war itself, cascading as the poor judgment of world leaders compounds upon itself. nuclear missiles cant be ruled out. the imperial blocs are unstable... there's no guaranteeing if theyll stay the same or change completely. yet the blockade of oil raises the cost of such a war ridiculously high. it seems that even if an escalation of global conflict is in the cards, it will destroy global economies so fast that such a conflict may be impossible to wage.
