was vaguely aware of the name but yeah this is essentially what I want! Will give it a go. I have a bit of an irrational aversion to freecad that I probably just need to get over. I tried using solvespace and exporting dxf which worked kinda..

@samw FreeCAD does still scare me a little because I've settled into my cosy OnShape nook. I'm sure when the global internet explodes I'll be changing my tune tho lol
