@rogerparkinson your comment reminded me of my mother when I was a student living at home in the days before nonhuman dishwashers. What if the queen visited? Reason for why dishes had to be done promptly. Only excuse for me and my brother not doing them was study or exams. Dislike of doing dishes may have fed into my brother and I each doing a double degree meaning years of escaping dishes!
