if i could completely eject one idea from "the left" (so that holding such an idea would become totally incompatible with any progressive or egalitarian views in minds of everyone), that would be bigotry if i could eject two, the second one would be anti-intellectualism like, i understand where the sentiment comes from ("these elite eggheads are not doing any useful work, all while misleading us into policies that keep us poor and making us feel inferior by gatekeeping education and (ostensibly) liking weird/overly complex/nonsensical art and culture to feel special") but i feel like those who do that are making the same type of categorization error as, say, the anti-semites, who see people of jewish descent overrepresented in banking (because of religious reasons, including prejudice by christians and muslims pushing them out of other occupations) or film (because back when the u.s. film industry started, a lot of american christians thought it was a lower-class form of entertainment compared to literature or theater and didn't want to take part) and erroneously conclude that there must be a jewish-run conspiracy that secretly rules the world and, as recent politics show, the people in power can make selfish and dangerous-to-rest-of-society decisions even if they're not "elites" or "intellectuals"
