@sverx My general rule of thumb is I need to store at least 6Kwh for night to be comfortable. I actually have my solar battery groups split, one 12 Kwh capacity, one 6 Kwh capacity. So I make sure I always have enough for night if needed, I built an interlock that lets me switch certain outlets between the two batteries.

  • @sverx The grouping is four 300 Ah LiFePO4 batteries in parallel, and then four 500Ah SLA batteries in series. The SLA batteries I managed to get completely for free. They're used, so you estimate 50% diminished capacity, and since they're SLA you can only run them down 50% before their life shortens, so 500/2/2 = 125 each, four = 5 Kwh. I have one last small battery that holds 1 Kwh in a portable form with it's own small panels.
