@hopeless @mrmasterkeyboard @chikl sure, go back to your fantasy where that's actually what happens. Here we live in reality land where what actually happens is an increased pressure to deliver more with the supposed productivity boosts of the chatbots that can churn out a lot of code, resulting in the people working on this full time having to work even more, especially since part-time contributors are also driven out by the increasing difficulty of keeping up with the chatbots' bullshit.
The end result is the code is worse and the people working on it full time will have to work even more.

@reiddragon @chikl @mrmasterkeyboard People who aren't too far down the spectrum can decide when to call it a day, especially when it's unpaid. If you take that approach, coding assists will generally get whatever you were trying to do, done quicker. It's up to you what you do with that extra time, keep doing more, or go touch some grass. When you eventually fall ill, as we all will, you won't be wishing you had done more work with your time.
