Reticulum didn't really get a developer community, I don't think it's going to be a major factor.
MeshCore is far better for higher density locations and for long-haul (I can routinely get to a friend 300km away in four or five hops because a lot of those hops are over ocean. It has a special type of node that's allowed to forward packets.
Meshtastic is better for more sparse grids, or more rugged terrain. All nodes repeat in meshtastic so it gets flooded fast in cities.

@eestileib @llorenzin there does seem to be people developing for Reticulum - I found firmware for the Cardputer ADV devices with LoRa board for example. Sure, maybe not as many people as the Mesh* projects but maybe that is an awareness/PR thing. What I like about Reticulum is that it is a transport and apps can be built on top of that. The Mesh* projects seem to be aimed at chat mainly - of course I may be wrong about this and am unaware of other uses/features. Maybe, if all the projects add transport like features then gateways could be a thing to allow comms across networks?
