@pozorvlak And then I enjoyed this observation that it made: “There's something about the da-da-DUM galloping rhythm that reads as either comic or propulsive, which is why it works for both children's verse and for martial poetry. The iamb feels like walking; the anapest feels like running or riding.” (I had brought up Dr. Seuss in connection with anapestic rhythm.)
