@zkat @shauna I wound up becoming a librarian because librarian Helaine Selin from Hampshire was such an obviously amazing person, I could not understand why everyone wouldn't want her job.

@zkat @shauna I was a miserable misfit in my college prep public high school. Hampshire was not only where I found my people but where I learned there even could be such a thing as "my people." It wasn't all great, a lot of people had a very bad time there because it wasn't right for them, but it was for me and I like to brag that I got a complete undergraduate degree and I only took 16 classes (and some of those were karate).
