what has really entertained me in the last two months of war coverage is the dawning realization within usa military leadership that we stand no chance against china in the pacific theater. we are outclassed and unprepared by every possible metric.
they would have our ass strategically and logistically. our industrial base is gutted and atrophied; the appropriations process is corrupt and bloated.

every single time someone mentions a problem with our war against iran, they connect it to china. "we're having trouble refueling ships (which would be an even bigger problem against china in the pacific!)" controlling china has always been the end goal for european global empire. uk tried and failed repeatedly. usa picked up that dream and has had its eye on china since settlers first reached the west coast.
