You know that North is up. I can roughly tell where North is even when I don't see the Big Dipper. We are not the same.

@Szescstopni@circumstances.run I used to know where North was, until I moved from England to Western Canada. Then I had no idea, unless in the city where streets were on a N-S, E-W grid. Magnetic North was very different from polar. I was only there 10 years. When I moved to Ontario, I learned where it was again after about 10 years. I can't recall exactly where magnetic north is. I'll have to dig out my compass—I haven't used it since I came here
