And there is, you guessed it, a custom menu bar item: "Cache Settings...", which opens a "Cache Properties" dialog (very consistent naming there).
This would have become inaccessible with Windows 11... if they hadn't removed the custom view entirely. Windows 11 just shows the raw folder contents.

So we know that at least this removal was intentional. And it's really not a big loss - this view was practically undiscoverable, and it looked like it was never updated since Windows 95. I have no idea if any of its custom features even still worked, beyond basic displaying.
