well it only took about 2.5 hours, but on the upside, getting to a proper customer service rep is way easier at XFINITY now - without first being asked to walk through a bunch of "are you really sure your internet isn't working?" garbage. Yes, I'm sure, and I began right away talking about downlink and uplink channel bonding on the modem and how it keeps locking on and off channels. They did their usual "we'll boost your signal" tricks, still nothing. Rebooted modem and router, nothing. Left both unplugged though for about an hour and that reset alone forced enough of an offline time that something reset and things are stable again. Well well.

@Tamasg@mindly.social By that time the capacitors are drained, the memory is cleared due to lack of power, and the router can cold boot in a refreshed state. That's my theory anyway.

@Tamasg@mindly.social Dude! If you can afford it brea get fiber. You'll never go back to shity Sexfinity or cable Internet period. Unless you live where they do offer fiber.
