Early in the full-scale war against Ukraine, when Russia still tried to convince their people of the necessity of the invasion (shortly before retreating to just arresting everyone opposing the war), they came up with loads of ridiculous and sometimes pretty funny reasons, like Ukrainians being gay nazis running secret biolabs where they breed mosquitos that can smell Russian DNA, bollocks like that. One of the many dumb things they claimed was that Ukrainians are satanists using black magic against Russians.
