Feeling a bit stupid right now but I only just realized that latitude and longitude are given as degrees because they are, in fact, angles, not just arbitrarily numbered lines on a globe. 🤦♂️ It's kinda obvious, I just somehow never spent a single thought about it, despite working with coordinates quite regularly.
