@astro_jcm It makes more sense when you realize their philosophy is consistent, it’s just not the expected “golden rule of “treat others the way you want them to treat you”, but instead that they extend respect and empathy to those that they already care about; that is, those that don’t challenge, disagree, confuse, or anger them by merely existing outside of cultural norms. You are assigned personhood upon proving value, not as a base characteristic.
