Episode 7 of the core․py #podcast is out! 🚀 I explain tokenizers, grammars, and parsers, while Pedantic Pablo corrects my most egregious oversimplifications. We go as far as #Python 1.0, finding a few surprises along the way. Thanks for your patience! Pablo was moving, and I also had an excuse, but now I can't remember 🤷🏻‍♂️ This is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and via RSS. @ambv@mastodon.social love the podcast! The content is great, but my favorite part is the cover of the Monty Python Flying Circus theme musing in the outro 🎶🦶

@ambv@mastodon.social listening as I'm writing this... I was looking forward to the mention of backslash at the end of raw strings, and you brought it up, but I still don't understand why it isn't allowed. After all - they don't escape anything in raw strings.

@ambv@mastodon.social Thanks to both you and @pyblogsal@bird.makeup. This podcast is just exactly what I have been looking for. Deeply enjoying the podcast format technical deep dives into the dark corners of Python.
