I “opted out” about 8 years ago. I just ignore all the aspects I hate. I’ll hang out for Christmas dinner…but won’t accept or give gifts…within reason: if somebody at work want to give me a trinket, I’m not going to make them feel like shit about it. I’ll say merry Christmas etc It feels so good not to be running around at the mall at the last minute to buy something useless. Makes birthdays better because I put more energy into them.

Same. I hate the traditions about it, that things have to be done as every year. Im one of thoese who think that traditions are rules made by dead people. And why am I called the Grinch, when I just don't like the consumption and the traditions. I was think of making an group for people who just don't want to follow traditions.
