An #IDF soldier was filmed putting a cigarette in the mouth of a statue of the Virgin Mary in southern #Lebanon - less than a month after another soldier was filmed smashing a statue of Jesus in Debel, a Christian village in the same region. The &quot;isolated incident&quot; excuse isn&#39;t going to fly anymore. This is a pattern, if there was any remaining doubt that Israeli (military) culture holds non-Jews in contempt. @vosje62@mastodon.nl @Heidentweet@todon.eu Also: Ambassador Bill White called Belgium antisemitic for letting a court do its job (prosecuting unlicensed circumcisers). Meanwhile Huckabee was very careful not to call these events (and countless others) anti-Christian bigotry. Just an exception. Doesn’t represent Israel. I’m sure he’ll find the right words or courage now that it’s self evident that’s in fact exactly what this is.

@oatmeal@kolektiva.social I think that feeling of dissonance is only a little sacrifice for them in order to get the Second Coming of their Lord Jesus Christ on Earth, just like they've been sacrificing Palestinian Christians. Totally worth it for them.
