RE: https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/@chris/116528566562304932 why? because it pays to be why do we fall for it? conservatives own the mass distribution of information and have a much easier time shaping our beliefs. there's cultural inertia from generations of families raised under the propaganda, and when the "opposition" gains power, often they are pretty disappointing, whether intentionally or not. improvements fail to stick the landing, or are weaponized to ensure further consolidation of power. or maybe not, but that's how it feels
